Vicana | Visual Narratives

Vicana is a design studio shaped by my journey from architecture to visual communication. At my core, I’ve always been a designer, searching for ways to give form to the invisible: ideas, emotions, and purpose.

The identity for Vicana was created as an extension of that intention. The logo represents an alter ego, a visual version of who I am when I’m designing. She’s the part of me who lives behind her computer, wears glasses, and carries stories on her skin through floral tattoos. That’s why the symbol replaces the Apple icon with a flower on the laptop: a small but meaningful connection to the way I work, think, and express myself.

The colour palette is a personal exploration of how colour makes me feel and how I want to use colour intentionally in every project. Each tone carries a piece of my story. The soft peach reflects the carefree, tropical energy of my Colombian roots, while the sky blue represents my love for clear, open skies, something I’ve found deeply in Australia, a place known for some of the bluest skies in the world. Beige and mint act as grounding neutrals, balancing the palette with calmness and clarity. Purple and burgundy introduce a sense of elegance, a reminder that behind all my tattoos and playfulness, there is also refinement and intention.

The typography follows the same logic. Its soft, organic shapes echo my love for natural forms and fluid lines, reinforcing a visual language that feels human, approachable, and warm.

The tagline “Visual Narratives” captures the essence of what I do. I don’t just design brands, I co‑create identities. I listen, observe, and translate stories into visual systems that feel aligned and honest. Even the name Vicana comes from a play on my own name, Viviana Castro, becoming a creative alter ego that represents the part of me that designs with purpose and soul.
